Bernedoodle Guardian Home Program - Columbus, Ohio
Not every family wants to purchase a puppy outright, and not every breeding program has room to keep every dog in-house. Our Guardian Home Program bridges that gap: a local Columbus-area family raises one of our future breeding dogs as a full-time family pet, while we remain involved to support the dog’s health and, eventually, their role in producing future Bernedoodle litters.
It’s a relationship built on trust between our farm and your family, so here’s exactly how it works.
SO, WHAT IS A
GUARDIAN HOME?
Every now and then we have potential breeding dogs that we want to keep to be future moms and dads.
We will place these puppies with good families that are willing to work with us. The family will get the pup at minimal cost, and in return we get a future breeding dog without overcrowding our property.
Once the dog is retired, they will live with you forever as your pet. They will only be with us if you need babysitting or when it’s time for the delivery process.
We are always looking to bring new blood into our lines, and will have occasional puppies both purebred and hybrids posted here as available guardian dogs.

How the Program Works
A Guardian Home Program typically works like this: your family raises the puppy at home as a full member of the household, walks, training, vet visits, all of it, while we retain breeding rights for an agreed period. Once the program is complete, full ownership of the dog transfers to your family, and the dog continues living with you for the rest of their life, no different from any other family pet, just with an earlier chapter you were part of together.
